Pretty good
Basing my review strictly on the merits of the movie alone...
I really liked this movie and found all of the characters well-developed.
I enjoyed seeing life in the 1870-80s. And really got a kick out of Silas still dressed in his Union Blues and name dropping American Civil War battles.
This one is well worth watching.

nice movie...although i was thinking $5000 seems like alot for a farm in the 1880s but i could be mistaken.
i did notice one thing: silas reminds me of preston manning! haha!

How is it that the cow was not allowed to run around, but that "fox" could? Goats do more damage to a garden than cows. Anyway, I'm not a farmer, so what do I know?

Well worth watching
I haven't read the book so I can't vouch for its faithfulness, but I enjoyed this one, mainly for the amusing dialog. Much stronger than most of the public domain comedy films here.

"Comedy, Drama"
So this is what a "comedy, drama" looks like.
Is there a "stinks" catagory?

Little Men.
This movie stays pretty close to the book....EXCEPT for this: When the Plumfield School becomes in danger of foreclosure, the two con men cook up a scheme to save the home. Sorry, but that never happened in the original book. I know Hollywood likes to spice up things when they make a movie off of a book, but to totally change the ending? Oh well, I liked it anyway.
